Heritage Homestead Club’s Summer Camp, hosted at the Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum, offers a one-of-a-kind outdoor learning experience filled with imagination, creativity, and adventure.
Each week, campers step into a new themed world — crafting, building, exploring, and playing through hands-on activities inspired by history, nature, and storytelling. From wizards and treasure hunters to time travelers and young inventors, every adventure is designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and create lasting summer memories.

Frequently Asked Questions
What ages can attend Summer Camp?
Heritage Summer Camp is designed for children ages 7–12, as activities and group dynamics are carefully planned with this age range in mind.
Sibling Exceptions:
Limited exceptions may be considered for siblings ages 6 or 13 who are enrolled alongside an age-eligible camper. These requests are reviewed individually to ensure a positive experience for both the child and the group.
- A small number of spaces may be available for younger siblings who demonstrate readiness for a full camp day.
- Older siblings may participate with additional expectations that support a respectful, age-appropriate environment for younger campers.

What are your policies and safety guidelines?
Safety is our number one priority and children must be able to follow our policies in order to attend the program. These policies are put in place not only to ensure the physical safety of the children but also to create a positive nurturing environment:
- Instructor to child ratios are one instructor per 12 children, we stay in groups of 24 children with two instructors.
- Children are supervised at all times and are not allowed to leave the group to another area without being accompanied by our staff. Staff are never one-on-one with children.
- Respectful behavior is required at all times. Bullying and disruptive conduct will not be tolerated.
- Phones and other screen devices are not allowed. If a child brings a phone, it must be put away in their backpack until they are picked up by a parent.
- We value maintaining a wholesome environment where childhood is sacred. Therefore, discussions regarding inappropriate or non-age appropriate topics are strictly prohibited.
Are instructors background checked?
Yes, instructors and staff at Heritage Homestead Club are required to get a background check.
Is the program suitable for children with special needs
We strive to create an inclusive environment. Please contact us directly to discuss your child’s specific needs so we can determine how best to support them.
What will my child do at the program?
Your child will engage in a variety of activities, including gardening, animal care, cooking, crafting, STEM-based projects as well as outdoor play. We end each day with kid's choice activities to allow more time for socializing and unstructured play. These activities are designed to build practical skills, foster creativity, and encourage teamwork.
What will my child need to bring?
Children should wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing, closed-toe shoes and dress in layers since we are both outdoors and indoors. A water bottle and sack lunch are also needed. We provide all other supplies and equipment.
Are scholarships available?
Yes! Scholarships are available to City of Vista residents and financial assistance programs are available for all California residents through subsidized childcare funding. Contact us to learn more about the application process.
Do you accept charter funds?
Yes! We accept charter funds from Elite Academy, Pacific Coast Academy, Suncoast Academy, Mission Vista, Compass Charter and Scale Leadership Academy. Reimbursement may also be available through other schools.
