Young Entrepreneurs Market Program

A hands-on entrepreneurship program where students launch their own small business, develop real-world skills, and participate in the Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum Holiday Market.

Students will create, market, and sell their own products—and keep the profits they earn.

🌱 Program Structure & Expectations

While this is a business-focused program, students will also participate in occasional farm and nature-based activities throughout the day.

These moments provide:

  • movement
  • time outdoors
  • and a chance to reset

However, the majority of each class will be dedicated to building and developing their business.

This program includes:

  • planning and goal setting
  • writing and organization
  • project follow-through

Students should be ready to engage in focused work and take ownership of their ideas from concept to completion.

🧠 Is This Program a Good Fit?

This program is best suited for students who:

  • are motivated to create and follow through on a project
  • can focus for extended periods of time
  • are willing to participate in writing, planning, and business development
  • are open to feedback and personal growth

🎄 Holiday Market Commitment (Required)

Students will participate in the Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum’s Holiday Lights event, where they will run their own booth.

📅 The event takes place:

The first three Fridays and Saturdays in December

✅ Requirement:
Students must be available to attend at least two of these evenings.

Please only register if your family can commit to this requirement.

🌿 Community Values & Environment

We are committed to maintaining a wholesome, respectful, and age-appropriate environment for all students.

Our homeschool community values:

  • kindness and consideration for others
  • empathy and respect
  • self-discipline and personal responsibility
  • preserving the innocence of childhood—even in the middle school years

We believe that true maturity is developed through character, not through early exposure to adult themes.

⚠️ Important Expectations for Participation

To protect the environment we are intentionally creating, this program is not a good fit for students who are regularly exposed to or engaged in:

  • unsupervised internet or social media use
  • inappropriate language or conversations
  • adult media or content
  • substance use or normalization of drugs in the home

Students are expected to:

  • communicate respectfully
  • engage in age-appropriate conversations
  • contribute to a positive and safe group dynamic

Families who are aligned with these values help us create a space where all students can thrive.
